Michael A. Smith is a native of State College, PA where his deep love for God and music was birthed. He was a proficient drummer at age 5 and played for his local church's children’s choir at Unity Church of Jesus Christ of State College. By the age of 8 he started teaching himself piano, and organ. In 1991 his family moved to Waldorf, MD. It is at this juncture of his life where he experienced being exposed, and inspired by the rich musical legacy of the Washington metro area where his musical abilities and influence went to a greater level.

Since then he has traveled all over the world ministering his gifts with greats such as Byron Cage, Earnest Pugh, Tye Tribbett, Maurette Brown-Clark, Stephen Hurd, Patrick Lundy, Brent Jones, Tonex, and many others. He has accompanied backing up great preachers of the gospel such as Bishop Paul S. Morton, Bishop George Bloomer, Prophet Brian Mosley, and many others. Michael played organ on his first live recording at the age of 18. Since then you can find his name credited on over 30 recordings, most recently as producer, co-producer, or music director. In 2010 Michael had become an accredited Stellar award nominee for Producer of the year. He is the CEO of Global Worship Media, LLC a vibrant worship consulting company.

He is a 1998 graduate of McDonough High School of Pomfret, MD. He has over 25 years of hands on experience worship leading, teaching choirs, facilitating workshops, and administrating music departments in the Washington metro area with an outstanding track record of integrity and professionalism. Michael was officially licensed as an ordained minister to preach the gospel on June 3rd 2023.

Michael is married to his wife Angela and both serve as pastors of New Beginnings Kingdom Ministry Temple of Waldorf, MD. They each have children from previous unions. Michael’s children are Trinity, Majesty, Legacy (deceased) and Liberty, and Angela's children are Shania, Aaron, and Kenyon.
